I’m Joelle Wheelwright, a freelance graphic designer based in Brighton & Hove, working across branding, print, publishing and digital design.

I work with businesses (large and small), publishers and individuals on a wide range of design projects, from developing new brands and visual identities to designing book jackets and layouts, editorial, brochures, reports, packaging, websites, textiles and digital communications. I combine creative ideas with practical experience to produce design that looks great and works effectively across different formats.

I take a personal, collaborative approach to design, taking the time to understand your business, your audience and what you want to achieve. Every project is tailored to your needs, whether you need a complete visual identity, a single publication or ongoing graphic design support.

I’ve worked in print and publishing for over 25 years, so I have a wealth of experience in taking great design from the screen to the finished printed piece. I particularly love book jacket design and page layout, and have extensive knowledge of print processes, papers and finishes — including how to get the best from different production techniques.

I also run Gorgeous Paper, a luxury wedding stationery business specialising in bespoke and semi custom wedding invitations and stationery. This keeps me hands-on with specialist print processes including letterpress, embossing and foil printing, as well as different papers, card stocks and finishing techniques.

Based in Brighton & Hove, I work with clients locally, across the UK and internationally, on projects of all sizes. I’m passionate about creating great design and delivering a professional, personal service from the initial idea through to the finished result.
